The University of Mumbai’s Department of Applied Psychology was founded in 1959, which is 55 years ago. It was a time when Psychology was still gaining ground in India. The department has seen a significant growth in the past four and a half decades. It offers rigorous training in theory and pure psychology at MA level. In addition, it offers highly applied training in four specializations in psychology. Part II. It is the only university in India that offers training in all four branches of Psychology in an applied and practice-oriented way. The curricula of the department of Applied Psychology have been designed to address the needs of today’s society. The curricula includes subjects that will help students increase their knowledge in clinical, counseling, industrial, and social psychology. Students will learn theory and be able to apply assessment and intervention skills.
